EVP380 Time Synchronization

Modified on Mon, 27 Jul at 4:11 PM

The EVP380 allows you to synchronize the player's clock via dedicated commands, whether in local time, UTC/GMT, or via the NTP protocol. Below are the frames to use to update the date and time, adapted to each format and timezone.

TABLE DES MATIÈRES

Update Local Time

This command sets the time in the current timezone of the device.

ByteRoleValue (Hexadecimal)Description
0Sync0x80 | idSynchronization byte and player identifier
1Command0x0CUpdate local time
2Hours[0x00-0x17]Number of hours since midnight (0-23)
3Minutes[0x00-0x3B]Number of minutes since the hour (0-59)
4Seconds[0x00-0x3B]Number of seconds since the minute (0-59)

Update Local Date

This command sets the date in the current timezone of the device.

Note: Changing the date may affect the time depending on the device's timezone (switching between daylight saving time and standard time).

ByteRoleValue (Hexadecimal)Description
0Sync0x80 | idSynchronization byte and player identifier
1Command0x1CUpdate local date
2Year[0x00-0x7F]Number of years since 2000 (0-127)
3Month[0x01-0x0C]Month of the year (1-12)
4Day[0x01-0x1F]Day of the month (1-31)

Update Local Date and Time

This command sets the date and time in the current timezone of the device. It is a combination of the two previous commands.

ByteRoleValue (Hexadecimal)Description
0Sync0x80 | idSynchronization byte and player identifier
1Command0x2CUpdate local date and time
2Year[0x00-0x7F]Number of years since 2000 (0-127)
3Month[0x01-0x0C]Month of the year (1-12)
4Day[0x01-0x1F]Day of the month (1-31)
5Hours[0x00-0x17]Number of hours since midnight (0-23)
6Minutes[0x00-0x3B]Number of minutes since the hour (0-59)
7Seconds[0x00-0x3B]Number of seconds since the minute (0-59)

Update UTC/GMT Date and Time (Epoch Version)

This command sets the time independently of the device's timezone. It uses an epoch reference expressed as the number of seconds elapsed since January 1, 1970, midnight UTC/GMT.

The epoch value is carried on bytes 2 to 6 of the command. Due to the nature of the protocol (synchronization byte 0x80), the value of each of these bytes must be within the range 0-127.

ByteRoleValue (Hexadecimal)Description
0Sync0x80 | idSynchronization byte and player identifier
1Command0x3CUpdate UTC date and time
2Epoch bits 28-34[0x00-0x7F]((epoch >> 28) & 0x7F)
3Epoch bits 21-27[0x00-0x7F]((epoch >> 21) & 0x7F)
4Epoch bits 14-20[0x00-0x7F]((epoch >> 14) & 0x7F)
5Epoch bits 7-13[0x00-0x7F]((epoch >> 7) & 0x7F)
6Epoch bits 0-6[0x00-0x7F](epoch & 0x7F)

Update UTC/GMT Date and Time (Full Version)

This command sets the time independently of the device's timezone. It uses a human-readable date expressed in UTC/GMT.

ByteRoleValue (Hexadecimal)Description
0Sync0x80 | idSynchronization byte and player identifier
1Command0x4CUpdate UTC/GMT date and time
2Year[0x00-0x7F]Number of years since 2000 (0-127)
3Month[0x01-0x0C]Month of the year (1-12)
4Day[0x01-0x1F]Day of the month (1-31)
5Hours[0x00-0x17]Number of hours since midnight (UTC/GMT) (0-23)
6Minutes[0x00-0x3B]Number of minutes since the hour (UTC/GMT) (0-59)
7Seconds[0x00-0x3B]Number of seconds since the minute (UTC/GMT) (0-59)

Enable/Disable NTP

This command allows you to enable or disable the automatic update of the system clock via the network. It is necessary to explicitly disable the automatic update to reliably use the manual clock update commands.

ByteRoleValue (Hexadecimal)Description
0Sync0x80 | idSynchronization byte and player identifier
1Command0x5CUpdate UTC/GMT date and time
2Activation[0x00-0x01]0 to disable NTP, 1 to enable it
