I have created the text files config.txt and serial.txt as indicated in the documentation, but the reader is not following the instructions I have entered in the configuration file. Why is this?
Make sure that the config.txt and serial.txt files were created using a basic text editor such as Windows Notepad. If not, your text editor must be capable of creating an ANSI file that is 100% ASCII.
DOC, RTF, UTF-8, UTF-16, UNICODE or other file formats must not be used.
