This history allows you to easily track improvements and check whether a version meets your needs or fixes a problem you have encountered.


Version 1.63 - Composer 1.1.2

July 2025
Fixed issues
  • System administration
    • Fixed an issue where the Composer window appeared on output screens or prevented them from restoring correctly when entering or exiting Maintenance mode too quickly.
    • Fixed an issue where the Composer window showed on output screens when an external USB audio interface was connected and powered on after the Proxima server.
    • Fixed a focus issue that caused keyboard shortcuts assigned in Composer to stop working properly after starting the Proxima server.
Known issues
  • In rare cases, switching Maintenance mode on or off may trigger a Bad Gateway Error 512. Refreshing the Proxima composer web admin page will restore the correct status.
  • Keyboard shortcuts assigned in Composer may take up to 15 seconds to become active after a project is loaded.

  • System administration
    • Fixed an issue that prevented the month from being set correctly when configuring NTP.
    • Fixed issues that prevented the server server date and time from being properly initialized after Time zone or Time changes.
    • Fixed issues that caused a Bad Gateway Error 512 when proceed SHUTDOWN, REBOOT or UPDATE of the Proxima server.
    • Fixed an issue that displayed a incorrect setting in the Audio Profile.
    • Fixed an issue that caused an error message when deleting logs and when the logs path did not exist.
    • Fixed an issue that caused an error message when updating firmware and when .PXU file or UPDATE folder did not exist.
    • Fixed an issue to prevent a cascading of the same error message.
Known issues
  • In rare cases, entering or exiting Maintenance mode may trigger a Bad Gateway Error 512, which requires refreshing the Proxima Composer web administration page to reflect the correct maintenance mode status.
  • Under specific conditions, the Composer window appeared on output screens after a boot or prevented screens from being restored when entering or exiting Maintenance mode too quickly.
  • Keyboard shortcuts assigned in Composer may take up to 15 seconds to become available after the project is opened.

What's new
  • Composer
    • Added a coordinate and dimension system to Shapes. The X & Y position and Width & Height of any Face or Player are now visible in the Properties panel. Coordinates are also available for Vertices.
    • These parameters can be assigned to Controls (Keyboard / MIDI / OSC / DMX).
    • Added Controls support to all color pickers. Color values can now be assigned like any other parameter.
    • Added a Bézier mode to the Output Setup warping module.
    • Added a Soft Edge module to Player Properties, with Width (px), Smooth, and global Gamma Correction per edge. This enables blending directly between Players, useful when using external video wall processors.
    • Added Blackout and Solo buttons to screens in Output Setup.
    • Improved Soft Edge calculations for multiple Screen blending, enabling smooth 2×2 edge blending.
    • Increased the number of available Undo ([CTRL+Z]) steps in Output Setup.
    • Reworked the Screen edge and point visuals in Output Setup for better clarity when zooming.
    • Minimum subdivision in warping is now 1×1 (both in Output Setup and Player warping).
    • Reworked how screens are added in Output Setup: Screens are added one by one, and can be removed via right-click or [Delete/Backspace].
    • Added a dotted quad for Points warping type, outlining the selected Screen’s shape in Perspective mode.
    • Improved default zoom and centering when opening or resizing Output Setup.
    • Added a New Map option in the Map dropdown menu, allowing map creation directly from a sequence's settings.
    • Controls assignments on Properties are now restored correctly after undo/redo.
    • Optimized canvas performance when drawing complex polygons, especially when running Autopilot with many sequences.
    • Optimized performance for hover/highlighting of Shapes in the Canvas.
    • Shaders now affect the snapshot shown in the Player’s Slice Selector (reflecting post-crop result).
    • Improved value precision of the Smooth parameter (formerly "Blend Curve") in Edge Blending: now adjustable in steps of 0.01.
    • Enhanced Output Setup test card with color bars, higher contrast, and more squares.
    • The Edge blending gradient preview on screens now matches the actual rendering more accurately.
    • Allowed greater zoom-out level in Output Setup.
    • Added multi-point lasso selection for screen warping points in Output Setup.
    • Added undo/redo support for: sequence movement, tab/column/row addition and deletion, timeline audio file changes, and timeline length edits.
    • Optimized audio waveform zoom in the Timeline.
    • Added a popup warning if no sequence is playing when attempting an export as image.
  • System administration
    • Added a Cleanup composer settings feature: it backs up Composer logs and restores factory settings, useful in case of major loading issues. Logs are saved in My files before reset.
    • Added System monitoring (via System → Monitoring) to view in real time:
      • Memory use,
      • CPU load,
      • GPU load,
      • GPU memory use,
      • CPU temperature,
      • GPU temperature.
    • Improved Maintenance mode behavior.
    • Enhanced Web administration and Composer remote access security.
Fixed issues
  • Composer
    • Fixed an issue where Warping Points were incorrectly positioned after using Reset in Perspective warping.
    • Fixed an issue where the Output Setup interface could momentarily disappear.
    • Fixed a bug that crushed long Text parameters.
    • Fixed a bug where moving multiple shapes caused the layer order to break.
    • Fixed an issue related to video hardware acceleration.
    • Fixed a crash when deleting a shape point while the Special – Corner effect was active.
    • Fixed the behavior of the [Space] + drag shortcut in the Output Setup, which was restricted near screen edges.
    • Fixed a bug where screen point coordinates were not reset properly after using Reset Corners.
    • Fixed a bug where Output Setup parameters could disappear temporarily.
    • Fixed a UI issue when switching between Linear/Bézier modes in Output Setup.
    • Fixed display of the Move to option in the Layers panel.
    • Fixed an issue when changing the color of a Special or Structure effect via Controls assignments. The color change would not be shared properly to other effects in the tab.
    • Fixed a bug where lasso selection of multiple Center points didn’t work anymore.
    • Fixed a crash related to OSC commands.
    • Fixed a potential crash when creating a new project via FileNew.
    • Fixed an issue where audio waveforms remained on the Timeline after deleting the file.
    • Fixed a bug that appeared after toggling Color – Random.
    • Fixed a bug that could corrupt output on screens at 90°-rotated.
  • System administration
    • Fixed minor issues.
Known issues
  • In the SettingsSystem menu of the server’s web administration, reboot, shutdown, or update operations may generate exception error messages. These are due to the System Monitoring not being active during these processes.

Installation

The Proxima server runs on firmware. Follow these instructions to update it and benefit from new features or fixes.

Update Procedure
  1. Contact us to get the update
  2. Connect to the web administration of the Proxima server.
  3. In the My files menu, create a root folder named UPDATE.
  4. Copy the firmware .pxu file in the UPDATE folder.
  5. In the Settings -> System menu, click on the UPDATE button. Just click once on the button and wait that the update dialog box appears. Do not turn off the Proxima server until the operation is completed! and wait until the Proxima server reboots completely.
  6. When the Proxima server is fully rebooted, the firmware installation is finished and the firmware .pxu file can be removed.

The installed firmware version can be checked into the Settings -> About page of the Proximaserver's web administration.
