Before commissioning the Cube, you must complete three distinct connections and configure two physical switches on the interface panel. This guide describes each step in the recommended order.
Note: Always disconnect the power supply before connecting or disconnecting cables from the device.
Step 1 — Connect Power (DC IN)
Connect a 24 V DC / 2 A power supply to the GND and 24V terminals of the DC IN connector. The power cable gauge must be between 20 and 14 AWG.
Once the power is connected, the blue LED indicator lights up to indicate that the device is powered. If the LED remains off, check the power adapter connection.
Step 2 — Configure Trigger Mode (TRIG MODE)
The TRIG MODE switch determines how the device manages audio playback. Set it according to your configuration:
| Position | Behavior |
|---|---|
| ON | Continuous playback (no external device required) |
| HI | Active triggering on high signal (DC 3.3 V) |
| LOW | Active triggering on low signal (DC 3.3 V) |
If no external triggering device (infrared sensor, PLC, etc.) is used, set the switch to ON.
Warning: Incorrect TRIG MODE switch setting is one of the most common causes of no sound. Check this setting first if you encounter issues.
Step 3 — Connect Audio Source (AUD IN)
Connect your audio source (media player, computer, smartphone, etc.) to the AUD IN connector, following the wiring below:
- L (BAL+): Left channel in stereo mode / BAL+ signal in balanced mode
- R (BAL-): Right channel in stereo mode / BAL- signal in balanced mode
- GND: Audio ground (common to both modes)
The audio cable gauge must be between 24 and 14 AWG.
Step 4 — Select Audio Mode (AUD MODE)
The AUD MODE switch must match the type of signal delivered by your source:
| Position | Mode | Connection Used |
|---|---|---|
| BAL | Balanced | BAL+ / BAL- / GND |
| STEREO | Stereo | L / R / GND |
Warning: A mismatch between the source signal type and the AUD MODE switch position will result in no sound or degraded audio quality.
Pre-Playback Verification
Before starting playback, check the following:
- The blue LED indicator is lit.
- The TRIG MODE switch is set to ON (if no external trigger is used).
- The AUD MODE switch matches the signal type of your source.
- The listener is at least 1 meter away from the speaker for optimal listening quality.
