This quick start guide is designed to assist you, step by step, in setting up your NanoPlayer Box. You will find the necessary technical details to configure the product autonomously and optimally.
1. Unpacking and Material Verification
Upon opening your package, ensure you have the following items:
- The NanoPlayer Box.
- The user manual (or quick start guide).
- A 12V DC power supply (often provided as an option or depending on the chosen model).
Note: SD/SDHC cards and the infrared remote control are usually sold separately. Ensure you use a quality SD card with a minimum size of 64 MB.
2. Media Preparation (Key to Operation)
Unlike other players, the NanoPlayer has no software interface. Its behavior is entirely dictated by the organization of the memory card.
- Formatting: Use a card formatted in FAT16 or FAT32.
- Folder Structure:You can create a maximum of two folders at the root, named with 3 precise characters (Digit-Letter-Digit).
- Folder 0 (Autoplay): This folder is automatically played as soon as the player is powered on. For example, the name `0R0` means: Folder 0, Random playback, Mode 0 (triggering folder 1 via contact).
- Folder 1 (Trigger): This folder is activated by an external contact on the trigger input (if folder 0 is configured in mode 0).
- File Naming:
- In Random (R) mode, names are free (e.g.,
music.mp3). - In Sequential (S) mode, you must number your files with 3 digits to define the playback order (e.g.,
001.mp3,002.wav).
- In Random (R) mode, names are free (e.g.,
3. Physical Connections
The NanoPlayer Box offers complete connectivity to adapt to your broadcasting needs:
- Audio:
- Line Output: Use the 3.5mm mini-jack to connect to a mixing console or external amplifier.
- Amplified Output: Connect your passive speakers directly to the Phoenix terminal block (L+/L- and R-/R+). The internal amplifier can deliver up to 2 x 16W at 4 Ohms.
- Headphone Outputs: Two jack sockets are available on the front for proximity listening.
- Power Supply: Connect the 12V DC power supply (2.1/5.5mm connector). The player accepts a voltage range between 10V and 15V.
Tip: If you use the amplified output at high volume, provide a power supply of at least 2A (24W) to avoid any distortion or failure.
4. First Playback and Commissioning
- Insert the Card: Insert your prepared SD card into the dedicated slot when the player is not powered on.
- Power On: Connect the power supply. The player does not have a switch and starts instantly.
- LED Verification:
- Fast Blinking (2/sec): Playback in progress. Everything is working.
- Slow Blinking: Error (often an empty or incorrectly formatted card).
- Off: Standby or not powered.
5. Interactivity and Controls
- Manual Triggering: You can test your files by pressing the volume button on the front; it serves as a manual trigger.
- Trigger Input: For an interactive installation, connect a push button or presence sensor (dry contact) between the "In" and "G" terminals of the input terminal block.
- Volume Adjustment: Use the knurled knob on the front (32 adjustment steps) to adjust the sound level for line outputs, headphones, and amplified output simultaneously.
Your NanoPlayer Box is now operational. For more complex configurations (retriggerable modes, playback under contact hold conditions), refer to the detailed steps for organizing `1xy` folders in your knowledge base.
