The strength of the NanoPlayer Box lies in its simplicity of implementation: everything depends on the organization of your SD card. The Autoplay function is the device's default behavior; it allows your content to start playing instantly as soon as the player is powered on. Here's how to configure Folder 0 to master this automatic startup.
The Principle of Folder 0 (Autoplay)
The folder whose name starts with the digit 0 is considered by the player as the priority folder at startup. As soon as you connect the 12V power supply (the player has no switch), it scans the SD card for this directory to read its content in a loop.
The 3-Character Naming Rule
For the automatic playback to work according to your needs, Folder 0 must be named with exactly three characters in the form 0xy.
- 0: Identifies the folder for playback upon powering on.
- x (Playback Mode):
- R (Random): For random playback of all files in the folder.
- S (Sequential): For playback in a specific order.
- y (Trigger Mode):Defines how the player reacts to an external contact (button, sensor) while playing this folder.
- 0: A contact interrupts Folder 0 to start Folder 1.
- 1: A contact plays the next track within the same Folder 0.
The 4 Possible Configurations for Startup
Depending on your project, you will choose one of the following four folder names:
- 0R0: Random automatic playback. A contact triggers a specific message (content in Folder 1).
- 0S0: Sequential automatic playback. A contact triggers Folder 1.
- 0R1: Random automatic playback. A contact manually skips to the next file in Folder 0.
- 0S1: Sequential automatic playback. A contact manually skips to the next file (ideal for an information kiosk).
File Organization Inside the Folder
Once your folder is named (e.g., 0S0), you need to place your MP3 or WAV files in it.
- Sequential Mode (S): Your files must be named with three digits to define the playback order (e.g.,
001.mp3,002.wav,003.mp3). - Random Mode (R): File names are free.
Tips for Successful Commissioning: - SD Card Handling: Always insert your SD/SDHC card (formatted in FAT32) when the NanoPlayer is not powered on to avoid any reading errors. - Visual Verification: At startup, if the front LED blinks rapidly (2 times per second), the automatic playback is correctly started. Slow blinking indicates an error, often related to incorrect naming or an empty card. - Quick Test: No need to wire a button to test your configuration; pressing the volume button on the front simulates a contact and will trigger the intended action (track skip or Folder 1 call).
