The NanoPlayer Box interactivity allows you to switch from simple loop playback to an "on-demand" system. Folder 1 is specifically dedicated to this interactive trigger function via an external event (push button, presence detector, relay).
To ensure it works correctly, you must master two aspects: its dependency on Folder 0 and its precise nomenclature. Here's how to configure your content for flawless interactivity.
1. The Essential Prerequisite: Configuring Folder 0
For the player to "listen" to the trigger input and switch to Folder 1, your Folder 0 (Autoplay) must be configured in Mode 0.
- Use a name like 0R0 or 0S0.
- The last "0" tells the player that a contact on the input should interrupt the current playback to start the content of Folder 1.
Note: If you do not need automatic playback at startup, you can choose not to create Folder 0. The player will then default to Mode 0 to wait for a trigger from Folder 1.
2. Naming Folder 1: The “1xy” Rule
Like the startup folder, Folder 1 must consist of exactly 3 mandatory characters: 1 (folder number) + a Letter (playback mode) + a Digit (trigger behavior).
The Letter (x): Choosing the Playback Mode
- R (Random): Plays the entire Folder 1 randomly.
- S (Sequential): Plays the entire Folder 1 in the order defined by the file numbers.
- N (New Random): Plays a single random file from Folder 1 with each contact.
- T (Triggered Sequential): Plays a single file (the next one) in sequential order with each contact.
The Last Digit (y): Defining Contact Behavior
- 0 (Non-Retriggerable): Once playback starts, any new pulse is ignored until the end of the file or folder.
- 1 (Retriggerable): A new pulse interrupts the current playback to restart a new file from Folder 1.
- 2 (Play While Held): The content is played as long as the contact is held. If released, playback pauses. It resumes from the same point with the next contact.
- 3 (Play While Held with Reset): Similar to Mode 2, but a new contact restarts playback from the beginning of the folder.
3. Organizing Audio Files
The naming of your files within Folder 1 depends on the chosen letter:
- Modes R and N: File names are free (e.g.,
welcome_message.mp3). - Modes S and T: You must number your files with 3 digits to define the order (e.g.,
001.mp3,002.wav).
4. Physical Implementation
The trigger is activated by establishing a brief contact between the In and G terminals of the input terminal block.
Note: You do not need to wire your buttons immediately to validate your configuration. The volume button on the front also serves as a manual trigger. A simple press on it will simulate a contact and start playback of your Folder 1, allowing you to instantly verify if your 1xy structure produces the expected behavior.
