To fully exploit the potential of your NanoPlayer Box, it is essential to master the folder naming rule. Since this player has no programming interface, the physical organization on the SD card defines its behavior.
The golden rule is as follows: each folder must be named with exactly 3 mandatory characters (Digit 1 + Letter + Digit 2).
Here is the technical detail of this nomenclature to allow you to configure your installations autonomously.
Folder Name Structure (e.g., 0R0)
1. The First Character: Folder Number
It defines the priority and role of the folder. The player accepts a maximum of 2 folders at the root of the card.
- 0: The "Autoplay" folder. It is automatically played as soon as the player is powered on.
- 1: The trigger folder. It is played when a contact is detected on the input (if Folder 0 is configured in Mode 0).
2. The Second Character: Playback Mode
This letter (must be uppercase) defines how the files inside the folder will be sequenced.
- R (Random): Random playback. All files in the folder are played without a specific order.
- S (Sequential): Sequential playback. Files are played in the order of their numbering (e.g., 001, 002...).
- N (New Random - Folder 1 only): With each trigger, a single file is played randomly.
- T (Triggered Sequential - Folder 1 only): With each trigger, the next file is played sequentially.
3. The Third Character: Trigger Mode
Its meaning changes depending on whether it is Folder 0 or Folder 1.
- For Folder 0:
- 0: A contact on the input interrupts Folder 0 to start playback of Folder 1.
- 1: A contact on the input simply plays the next track within the same Folder 0 (Folder 1 becomes unnecessary).
- For Folder 1 (Advanced Options):
- 0: Non-Retriggerable mode. A new pulse is ignored during playback.
- 1: Retriggerable mode. A pulse stops the current file to start a new one.
- 2: Playback as long as the contact is held. Pauses when the contact is released.
- 3: Playback as long as the contact is held. Returns to the beginning of the folder with each new press.
Common Configuration Examples
| Folder Name | Player Behavior |
|---|---|
| 0R0 | Random loop playback from power-on. A contact triggers Folder 1. |
| 0S1 | Sequential playback from power-on. A contact skips to the next file in the same folder. |
| 1R0 | Folder 1 is played entirely in random order following a contact. New pulses are ignored during playback. |
| 1T1 | Plays a single file (the next one) with each contact, with the ability to interrupt playback to immediately skip to the next one. |
Important Reminders: - Only one folder level is allowed from the root of the SD card. - The card must be formatted in FAT32. - Always insert or remove the memory card only when the player is not powered on. - The volume button on the front simulates an incoming contact; use it to test your folder names without complex wiring.
