How can I find out how my file is encoded and check its characteristics?
If you do not already have software for this purpose, you can use MediaInfo to identify a file’s format, type, encoding, bit rate and other characteristics.
This BSD-licensed software is free to use on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
What software can I use to access my player via FTP?
Many FTP programs are available, and some operating systems allow you to access an FTP server directly without installing a third-party application.
If you do not already have an FTP client, you can use FileZilla. This GPL-licensed software is free to use on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
I created a timestamped programming file using Scheduler, but the player is not following my schedule. What is happening?
First, make sure the timestamped programming file is named exactly scheduler.tm3. Then, make sure the file has been copied to the SYSTEM folder on the player’s main media.
If the schedule still does not work, check in Scheduler that the daily schedules you created are correctly placed in the calendar. Also make sure the player is set to the correct date and time. Finally, make sure the folders referenced by the timestamped programming exist and comply with the file structure.
Can I use Mac OS X to prepare the content of my storage device?
This issue has been resolved since firmware version 1702. If the player is not up to date, you must manually remove the hidden system files generated by macOS, such as .DS_Store.
- Insert the storage device into the Mac.
- Format the storage device as FAT32 and give it a volume name.
- Copy the folders and files to the storage device according to the desired organisation.
- In the Mac OS X Terminal, located in Applications > Utilities, enter and run the following command:
dot_clean -m /Volumes/(volume name) - Eject the storage device using the operating system’s eject procedure.
- Turn on the player with the storage device prepared in this way.
