Adjust output and audio source volumes and gains — My Music Player and My Music Player LE

Modified on Tue, 27 Oct at 5:33 PM

Independently of the main volume setting, the following sections explain how to adjust the volumes and gains of the player’s audio outputs and sources. The number and type of audio outputs and sources depend on the player model.

Adjust audio output volumes

Principle

This setting adjusts the volume of each audio output on the player.

Player behavior: Audio output volumes are independent settings that apply regardless of the playback context. They apply attenuation to the nominal volume of each output. The available outputs depend on the player model:

  • My Music Player: XLR and RCA audio outputs.
  • My Music Player LE: amplified and RCA audio outputs.

Procedure

Select an attenuation value from 0 dB to -64 dB (MUTE) for each player output.

Methods

MethodProcedure
Advanced menu

Go to ADMINISTRATOR → VOLUMES/GAINS → VOLUME OUTPUT, then select:

  • XLR and RCA for My Music Player; or
  • AMP (amplified) and RCA for My Music Player LE.

Set an attenuation value from 00 to -64.

Web browser

On the Administrator page, select:

  • RCA output volume and XLR output volume for My Music Player; or
  • RCA output volume and Amplified output volume for My Music Player LE.

Set an attenuation value from 0 to -64 (MUTE), then click Save at the bottom of the page.

Adjust audio output gains

Principle

This setting adjusts the gain of each audio output on the player.

Player behavior: Audio output gains are independent settings that apply regardless of the playback context. They apply gain to the nominal volume of each output. The available outputs depend on the player model:

  • My Music Player: XLR and RCA audio outputs.
  • My Music Player LE: amplified and RCA audio outputs.

Procedure

Select a gain value from 0 dB to +9 dB for each player output.

Methods

MethodProcedure
Advanced menu

Go to ADMINISTRATOR → VOLUMES/GAINS → GAIN OUTPUT, then select:

  • XLR and RCA for My Music Player; or
  • AMP (amplified) and RCA for My Music Player LE.

Set a gain value from 0 to +9.

Adjust playback source volumes

Principle

This setting adjusts the volume of each playback source.

Player behavior: Playback source volumes are independent settings that apply attenuation to the nominal volume according to the playback context. The available sources depend on the player model:

  • My Music Player: Main Media playback, web radio playback and auxiliary input.
  • My Music Player LE: Main Media playback and web radio playback.

Procedure

Select an attenuation value from 0 dB to -64 dB (MUTE) for each playback source.

Methods

MethodProcedure
Advanced menu

Go to ADMINISTRATOR → VOLUMES/GAINS → VOLUME INPUT, then select:

  • P for Main Media playback;
  • A for the auxiliary input (My Music Player only); or
  • W for web radio.

Set an attenuation value from 00 to -64.

Web browser

On the Administrator page, select:

  • Player volume for Main Media playback;
  • Web radio; or
  • Aux input volume for the auxiliary input (My Music Player only).

Set an attenuation value from 0 to -64 (MUTE), then click Save at the bottom of the page.
