Alternate Media Playback - My Music Player

Modified on Mon, 26 Oct at 5:13 PM

An Alternate Media is an optional storage device, such as a USB flash drive or SD card, containing audio files for temporary playback. This feature is available on the My Music Player only.

Purpose

Use Alternate Media to temporarily play audio files that are not stored on the main storage device (Main Media).

Supported file formats

WAV, MP3 and encrypted MP3.

Playback behavior

The player plays all audio files on Alternate Media independently of the content stored on Main Media. All audio content plays in a loop and in random order, regardless of how the files and folders are organized.

No file repeats until all audio files on Alternate Media have played. When returning to an Alternate Media device, playback resumes according to the playback history stored on that device.

Available connections

On the My Music Player, Alternate Media can be connected to the following ports:

  • USB-INT: internal USB host port.
  • USB-EXT: external USB host port.
  • SD-CARD: SD/SDHC memory card slot.
  • HDD-INT: internal SATA connector (HW V1.0 only).
