• Added a new Wavesparkfeature that allows you to supervise and update the player in a web browser, from any Internet access, thanks to the wavespark.cloud service, usable:
  • In the System Settings menu of the on-screen menu and in the System Information / System Settingsmenus of the remote administration, new Wavespark sections have been added to:
    • View the status of the Wavespark service,
    • Register the player to the Wavespark service,
    • Reset the player's credentials for the Wavespark service.
• Added a new watchdog feature that allows the player to automatically restart in the event of a system failure.
• Improved PJLink support with case-insensitive command handling, to ensure full recognition of any type of video projector.
• Improved the handling of Ethernet connection losses in the Art-Net function.
• Improved the default settings, the Playback Start Synchronization option of the Scenario Settings is now enabled by default.

Issues Fixed

• Fixed an issue that could crash the player when playing non-UHD videos. All videos are now exclusively decoded in the video surface.
• Fixed an issue that could stop the player from being recognized on the network.
• Fixed an issue in the operation of Art-Net replay when the Show Control Delay function was used.
• Fixed an issue where the Stopped state was not reported in the remote administration after maintenance when no autoplay folder is available.
• Fixed various issues in the web API for listener invocation and input contact configuration.

    • [PROJS ON] and [PROJE ON], turn the video projector on at the beginning or end of playback of a file or folder,

  • Contact inputs and the infrared remote control— in the Scenario Settings menu of the on-screen menu and the remote administration, new settings have been added for Standalone Input Contact, Combined Input Contacts and Remote Control Keys:

• Updated the embedded Chromium web browser to version 92.0.4515.159, for a more responsive and smoother execution of web applications.
• Updated the player model qualification in HDMI-CEC OSD.
• In the System Settings / HTTP Server menu of the remote administration, a new HTTP Authentication section has been added to define the passwords of the HTTP accounts (administrator and non-privileged user).
• Updated references and visuals to Waves System.

Issues Fixed

• Fixed an issue in the operation of the HDMI-CEC Simultaneous Start command when the Standby Controlled by Display Device function is enabled.
• Fixed an issue that could appear after a fast switching between standby and wake-up, displaying Standby on the LCD screen of the Event Video Player EVP380 while the player is not in standby.
• Fixed an issue that prevented the volume setting of the amplified outputs from being applied from the remote administration.

  • File and folder tags:
    • Select the subtitle language,
    • Disable subtitles,
    • Automatically select subtitles according to system settings,
    • New file or folder tags [SUBS x] and [SUBE x] have been added, allowing you to define how subtitles are displayed at the beginning or end of playback of a file or folder. The parameter xcan be:
      • The ISO639-1, ISO639-2 or ISO639-3 code of the subtitle language to display (e.g.: [SUBS ENG] selects English),
      • NONE to disable subtitles (e.g.: [SUBS NONE]),
      • AUTO (or AUTOMATIC) to automatically select subtitles according to system settings (e.g.: [SUBS AUTO]).
  • Contact inputs and the infrared remote control:
    • Select subtitles (by language or track index),
    • Disable subtitles,
    • Automatically select subtitles according to system settings,
    • Select the next or previous subtitle track from the available list,
    • In the Scenario Settings menu of the on-screen menu and the remote administration, new settings have been added for Standalone Input Contact, Combined Input Contacts and Remote Control Keys.
  • JavaScript methods and events and REST API:
    • Get the list of available language tracks,
    • Get the selected subtitle track,
    • Get the current subtitle selection settings,
    • Select subtitles (by language, track index or identifier),
    • Disable subtitles,

    • Select the next or previous subtitle track from the available list,
    • New methods added to the Player control interface of the JavaScript API:

    • New event added to the JavaScript API: TrackSelectionEvent to receive an event when a subtitle track is selected and to get information about the selected subtitle track.

    • New commands added to the protocol:
      • 0x0D: Generic subtitle selection command, the 1-byte command parameters are:
        • 0x00: Disable subtitles,
        • 0x01: Enable automatic subtitle selection according to system settings,
        • 0x02: Select the previous subtitle (without circular selection),
        • 0x03: Select the next subtitle (without circular selection),
        • 0x04: Select the previous subtitle (with circular selection),
        • 0x05: Select the next subtitle (with circular selection).
      • 0x1D: Select subtitles with the ISO-639 language code, the 3-byte command parameter corresponds to the 3 ASCII values of the ISO-639 language code string (e.g.: 0x65 0x6e 0x67 = eng, selecting English).
      • 0x2D: Select subtitles with the track index, the 1-byte command parameter is the subtitle track index between 0 (0x00) and 127 (0x7F).
      • Extension of the information request command 0x04 with the new parameter 0x41 to get the list of ISO-639 codes of available languages (separated by semicolons and terminated by CRLF, e.g.: eng;ara;nld).
• Added a new file tag [DUR x] (or [DURATION x]) that allows you to set the playback duration of an image independently of the Slideshow Image Duration setting. The value of x is a number of seconds or the infinite playback parameter INF (or INFINITE). Examples:
  • [DUR 60], the image is displayed for 60 seconds,
  • [DUR INF], the image is displayed indefinitely,
  • [DUR INFINITE], the image is displayed indefinitely,
  • [DURATION 15], the image is displayed for 15 seconds,
  • [Duration infinite], the image is displayed indefinitely.
• Added a new folder tag [NRST] (or [NORESTART]) that allows you to disable the re-triggering of the folder while it is playing.
• Updated the JavaScript SDK to version 1.1.0. Allows remote control using the same JavaScript API as for local control. Methods added:
  • IDAL.getRemoteControlInterfaces() to get the control interfaces of a remote video player,
  • IDAL.getClient() to get a low-level communication client to control a remote video player.
• In the playback information banner and in the Remote Administration on-screen menu, added the display of the player's IP address and a QR code allowing the remote administration to be opened in a web browser.
• Added the remote web inspectorfunction that allows debugging via a web browser:
  • This function can be used by connecting with Chrome or Chromium on port 9222,
  • In the System Settings/Web Browser menu of the on-screen menu or the remote administration, a new Web Inspector setting has been added to enable it.
• Improved the remote administration:
  • Added a console for viewing JavaScript and playback engine traces,
  • Added automatic refresh of the statuses in the various System Information pages,
  • Removed the confirmation pop-up notification when closing the page (window or tab). The confirmation notification only appears if the setting changes are not saved,
  • Added a mechanism to prevent a reconnection following a page refresh.
• Improvements and new functions added to the JavaScript API:
  • Added the addListener() and removeListener() methods to attach an event handler to the Player, Contact and Printer control interfaces,
  • Added the getSubtitles() and selectSubtitles() methods for subtitle management from the Player control interface,
  • New events added:
    • TimeUpdateEvent to receive a playback progress event,
    • StateChangeEvent to receive an event on playback engine state changes,
    • TrackSelectionEvent to receive an event when audio, video and subtitle tracks are selected.
  • Added the detail.type:input-change property to the InputContactEvent event.
• Improvements and new functions added to the REST API:
  • New events added:
    • ResolutionChangeEvent to receive an event on display resolution changes,
    • ConnectionChangeEvent to receive an event on connections or disconnections of the display device to the player,
    • StorageConnectionEvent to receive an event on connections or disconnections of an external storage device to the player,
    • StorageChangeEvent to receive an event when a new storage device is played,
    • TimeUpdateEvent to receive a playback progress event,
    • PowerChangeEvent to receive an event when the player is put into standby or woken up.
  • Added the detail.type:input-change property to the InputChangeEvent event,
  • Added extensions to allow remote control (JavaScript API mapping) of the Serial, Contact, Printer and Logger interfaces,
  • Added websockets to retrieve traces as well as state change events,
  • Various API improvements added.

  • NTP inactive: disables the NTP setting,
  • Set time: sets the time only,
  • Set date: sets the date only,
  • Set date/time: sets the date and time,
  • Set UTC/GMT date/time (Epoch version): sets the UTC/GMT date and time from an "Epoch" reference,
  • Set UTC/GMT date/time (full version): sets the UTC/GMT date and time from a complete UTC/GMT date/time.

• Fixed the missing "Web Browser" preference title in the on-screen menu.

• Added the HTML5 / JavaScript engine for:
  • Displaying HTML content (page, application and web user interface) alongside linear audio / video playback,
  • Controlling the video player from the HTML content thanks to a JavaScript API. HTML content can access various aspects of the video player such as:
    • audio volume control,
    • playback control (play, stop, pause …),
    • printer management,
    • log file management,
    • the serial port,
    • input and output contacts,
    • state change notifications.
• Added USB Touch support to control the player with a multi-touch screen using the HTML5 / JavaScript engine.
• Added a remote administration function to configure and control the player on a local network from any web browser.
• Added an audio / video streaming function from a text file containing the stream URL.
• Added FTPS support using self-signed certificates.
• Improved the DHCP function by retrying the DHCP request every 8 seconds instead of 128 seconds.

• Fixed an issue with Ethernet link loss when the device and the router it is connected to are powered on together.
• Fixed truncated messages during the firmware update process.
