This article gathers all the release notes for Wavespark. You will find the updates, fixes, and new features integrated into each update.

This history allows you to easily track improvements and check if a version meets your needs or fixes an issue you encountered.

September 2026

09/08/2026

New Features:

  • Added a Scenario feature for receiving and sending messages with serial ports. This feature includes:
    • Serial message trigger module for receiving string or hexadecimal commands from serial ports,
    • Serial message action module for sending string or hexadecimal messages over serial ports,
  • Serial link menu in My player view to manage and configure USB-to-serial devices, with settings for Baud rate, Parity, Data bits, Stop bits and Message separator.
  • Added two-factor authentication (2FA) with a verification code sent via email.
  • Added Remember me option to the login screen.


Fixed Issues:

  • Fixed an issue where firmware update progress was no longer displayed after refreshing the Players page.
  • Fixed an issue with project size calculation when it includes a fallback content for web radio.
  • Fixed a project version issue causing duplicate increments when editing the project.
  • Fixed a responsive issue with the forgotten password modal window.
  • Fixed a display issue with the fallback playlist on the Web radio editing page.
  • Fixed a text display issue in the logs following the fallback playback of the web radio.
  • Fixed an issue regarding the default date for new programs, the default date is now the selected date of the calendar view.

New Features:

  • Added a playlist duplication feature to the playlist card options menu.
  • Added the project version number to project cards.
  • Added the date and time of the last project modification to the Calendar and Scenario editor headers.
  • Improved the player's project information dialog:
    • Added the download date of the last published project.
    • Added the project version number for both the published project and the upcoming project.
  • Added a shortcut in the Players view: Ctrl + right-click (or middle-click) on the player status button now opens the player details in a new tab.
  • Improved the placement of the date navigation arrows to facilitate navigation within the project calendar.

Fixed Issues:

  • Fixed an issue that caused the main menu to appear in inappropriate contexts.
  • Fixed various text and translation issues.

Known Issues:

  • Scenarios with Content playback action using large playlists may take a long time to load (more than 1 minute).

May 2026

New Features:

  • Improved firmware update modal window:
    • The latest firmware versions are now displayed at the top of the firmware list,
    • The release notes (Changelog) display area is now limited to prevent it from extending beyond the screen.
  • Improved project update modal window:
    • Recently modified or added projects are now displayed at the top of the project list.
  • Improved workflow of Scenariofeature:
    • Creating a new Timer action with a Start command, now automatically selects the timer associated with the current action module.
  • Removed unnecessary QR code for the local link in the Web remote settings modal window, and added contextual text explaining how to use the Local link: on the player's local network.
  • Added visual feedback when using the copy and refresh buttons in the Web remote settings modal window.

Fixed Issues:

  • Fixed issues that prevented the local link copy button and password copy button from working in the Web remote settings modal window.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed selecting an inactive timer reference in the Timers actions or Timers triggers of the Scenario feature.
  • Fixed and added missing translations.
  • Fixed minor front UI visual issues.

April 2026

04/23/2026

New Features:

  • Introduced a new Scenariofeature, allowing users to design interactive and automated behaviors using a no-code workflow. This feature includes:
    • 100% visual and no-code workflow based on modules and properties editions,
    • Auto-generated web remote:
      • No technical skills required,
      • Password-protected access available.
    • 4 trigger modules:
      • Input contact to generate triggers from the player's input contact,
      • Web remote to generate web remote triggers like buttons or switches,
      • End of playback to generate triggers at the end of the Scenario playbacks,
      • End of timer to generate triggers at the end of timers.
    • 6 action modules:
      • Content playback to broadcast playlists in different modes (All, Loop, Number of tracks),
      • Output relay to control the states of the player's output relays,
      • Playback controls to control the playbacks triggered by the Scenario (Stop, Pause, Resume, Next track, Previous track),
      • Calendar control to enable or disable the calendar feature,
      • Timer to control timers (Start, Stop, Pause, Resume),
      • Change of state to switch the scenario into a specific state.
    • Always on mode for permanent triggers and actions state,
    • Additional States for advanced scenarios which required a state machine,
    • Scenario sub-type in the Broadcast type logs, useful for tracking tracks played by the Scenario feature.
  • Added a feature to clear the Scenario data of a player in My Player -> System,
  • Added a visual feedback in My Player view when the calendar of a player is disabled.
  • Improved responsive design of the web user interface.

February 2026

02/26/2026

New Features:

  • Added an option Allow project updates without preloading in My Account -> Organization Settings, which allows players that do not have enough storage space to preload the upcoming project to clear storage before downloading the project at the scheduled publish date.
  • Added a feature to calculate and display the size of each project in the Projects list and in the project editing view.
  • Improved the project download process in case of insufficient storage space. Now, the project download is interrupted instead of being constantly restarted.

New Features:

  • Added the ISRC code of tracks in Playback logs, with possible filtering in the log search bar. Useful for tracking and identifying played tracks.
  • Added a new Configuration: Date and Time log (type System), recorded when the player's Date and Time configuration is modified.
  • Added a new System filter to display only configuration change logs and future system activities of the player.
  • Added a function to export logs in CSV format, taking into account the filters applied in the History view.
  • Updated the calendar and its editing tools to ensure perfect consistency between Wavespark and AP420.

Fixed Issues:

  • Various corrections on log filters.
  • Corrected the email address of Wavespark technical support (support@wsystem.com).

New Features:

  • Added a new History function in the Playerview, including:
    • The display of the player's playback history such as:
      • Track title, artist, album, and duration of the played track,
      • Name and URL of the played webradio,
      • Name and type of the program associated with the playback,
      • Playback context of the played track (scheduled playback or fallback playback of a webradio),
      • No playback.
    • The display of project publishing history,
    • The display of history according to a defined time zone (player's, browser's, or UTC),
    • Automatic retrieval of player history in Wavespark every hour,
    • A function to retrieve the latest history on demand,
    • Filtering of history by:
      • Severity level,
      • Log type,
      • Date and time.
    • A search tool in the displayed history content.

Fixed Issues:

  • Fixed an issue in the Players view that displayed incorrect Project data after scrolling through the list.

New Features:

  • Added a new Proplan including the following features:
    • EBU128 normalization option in the new Organization Settingspage:
      • Automatic normalization of audio files upon upload,
      • Customizable normalization settings:
        • Target Level - Target Level (LUFS)
        • Target Loudness Range - Loudness Range Target (LUFS)
        • True Peak Level - True Peak Level (dB)
      • Normalization status of tracks in track lists:
        • No indicator: track not normalized,
        • Gray indicator: track being normalized,
        • Blue indicator: track normalized,
        • Red crossed-out indicator: track not normalized, an error occurred during normalization.
      • Notification of normalization progress status in the top banner,
      • Display of normalization errors in:
        • The notification area of the top banner,
        • The track details window.
  • Added a new user account and organization settings page, accessible via the Settingsbutton in the user profile menu:
    • User Settings:
      • Display of user profile information (name, email, role),
      • Change of user interface language (English or French),
      • Change of user account password.
    • Organization Settings:
      • Display of organization profile information (ID, name, number of registered players, subscribed plan type)
      • Update of subscription plan (Standard, Pro, Premium),
      • Activation of automatic normalization when importing new audio files,
      • Configuration of audio normalization settings.
  • Added a track details function in the media library:
    • Track name,
    • Artist name,
    • Album name,
    • Genres,
    • Duration,
    • Upload date,
    • Audio filename,
    • Audio file size,
    • Audio normalization status.
  • Redesigned the Aboutpage:
    • Added the date and time of the last Wavespark audio update,
    • Added a button to view Wavespark audio release notes,
    • Added a clickable link to the Waves System website,
    • Added a button to send an email to Wavespark audio technical support.
  • Redesigned the subscription plan window,
  • Redesigned the Current page of the Billing section,
  • Improved the selection mode of an item in the Players, Groups, Tracks, and Users lists.
    Selection can now be made by clicking anywhere on the item's line, except for clickable elements.
  • Added new email notifications for:
    • Registration of a new account,
    • Upgrade to the Pro plan,
    • Availability of a new invoice,
    • Scheduled expiration within 30 days of the payment method,
    • Payment failure.

New Features:

  • Improved the project naming method to prevent two projects from having the same name.

Fixed Issues:

  • Fixed scrolling and display issues in the track list of a playlist.
  • Fixed an issue with the Project status in the Players list view.
  • Fixed an issue that deleted the scheduled firmware update after enabling a player's service.
  • Fixed minor issues.

August 2024

New Features:

  • Added new features to control and configure an AP420 player from the Player Status view (firmware 0.51.0or higher required):
    • View current player status (date and time, current playback, continuum, storage, and firmware version) (firmware 0.51.2 or higher recommended),
    • View network parameters,
    • Configure date and time settings (NTP and timezone),
    • Configure audio settings (Volume, line level, and announcement program gain).
  • Added additional data to know the player's project status:
    • Internal, the project has been created or modified from the player's CMS,
    • Wavespark Project Name, the project has been published from Wavespark and is strictly identical to the project in Wavespark,
    • Wavespark Project Name with a broken link icon, the project has been published from Wavespark but modified since its last publication in the player.
  • Added a checksum function when uploading new audio files to avoid duplicate tracks in the media library.
  • Added a function to download audio files directly into playlists, music programs, or announcement programs. From the Add Tracks button or using a drag-and-drop method.
  • Added French translation of Wavespark for web browsers configured in this language.
  • Added new features in Billing:
    • Management of credited account balances,
    • Management of discounts for accounts benefiting from special discounts.
  • Improved the phone number entry tool in the Payment Identity add/update form.
  • Improved scrolling of the track list in a playlist.
  • More robust connection of the AP420 player to the Wavespark audio service.
  • Improved English translation texts.

Fixed Issues:

  • Fixed a latency issue with connecting to Wavespark audio after a network disconnection of an AP420 player.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed downloading hidden files in the media library.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented managing a large quantity of elements in the content of music and announcement programs.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented configuring the storage device of the AP420 player from the Player Status view.
  • Fixed an issue with the track deletion function in the media library.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented drag-and-drop of new tracks outside the drop zone.
  • Fixed various visual issues.

April 2024

04/17/2024

New Features:

  • Added functions to control and configure an AP420 player from Wavespark audio by clicking on the player's Player state cell (firmware 0.51.0or higher required):
    • Select the player's storage medium,
    • Format removable storage media in the ext4 file system to ensure system robustness against storage media corruption.
    • Restart the player,
    • Turn off the player.
  • Improved the process of assigning services to players. The service activated for a player will be automatically re-activated for that player if it re-registers in the same organization.

Fixed Issues:

  • Fixed display issues with the progress bar during firmware and project updates.
  • Fixed filter issues in the Players view.
  • Fixed an issue that could display players multiple times in the Players view.
  • Fixed an issue with the URL sent for password reset.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players with firmware version 0.49.3 to crash when a project update was published. Now, only players with firmware version 0.50.1 or higher are allowed to accept project updates.
