I use a USB flash drive containing a very large number of audio files. How can I improve my player's startup time?
When the player starts up, it automatically scans all the files on the storage medium. If there are many files in each folder, this operation may take some time. Due to the technologies used in the player, an SD or SDHC card is preferable. Startup time will be faster with a high-performance SD/SDHC card.
I have placed a very large number of files in a single folder, but not all of them seem to play. Why?
The number of files supported by the player in a single folder is limited to 999.
I don't know how my file is encoded. What software can I use to check its exact characteristics (format, type, encoding, bitrate, etc.)?
If you do not already have software for this purpose, you can use MediaInfo. This software is available under a BSD license and is free to use on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
What software can I use to access my player via FTP?
Many FTP applications are available, and some operating systems allow you to access an FTP server directly without installing third-party software. If you do not already have a preferred FTP client, you can use FileZilla. This software is available under the GPL license and is free to use on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
I have correctly named the autoplay folder 000, but the player only plays it once and then stops. What is the problem?
By default, folders are not played in a loop. To enable loop playback, you must add a specific parameter to the folder name. This parameter instructs the player to jump to a folder once playback of the current folder is complete. To play your autoplay folder in a loop, rename it from 000 to 000 [J000]. For more information about folder parameters, refer to your user manual.
My EventPlayer mkII is not recognized on my DHCP network.
The EventPlayer does not support the DHCP protocol. The EventPlayer mkII operates only with a static IP address. If you cannot adapt your network to this requirement, use a router as a gateway between your DHCP network and the player's static IP address.
I use my player for both normal playback and the auxiliary audio input, but the sound level does not always match my volume setting.
The main audio playback output and the auxiliary audio input have separate volume settings. You must therefore adjust each volume individually. To adjust the main audio output volume, switch the player to Main mode from the player's Source menu. To adjust the auxiliary audio input volume, switch the player to Aux mode from the player's Source menu. In both cases, adjust the volume using the player's rotary encoder.
